VANISHING BEAUTY

Of the 9 subspecies of  Tiger , only 6 exist. Reduced into nothing more than a few 100 individuals of each kind. India is having two of these 9 subspecies. India is home to the world's largest population of tigers in the wild. The worlds favorite animal is our national animal and what have we done to save this magnificent super-cat from extinction? With over 1,210,193,422 Indians  in our country, we have more than enough human resource to save our nations pride. But will we?...............

Lets never do to the Indian tiger what we have done to the Indian cheetah

Bengal Tiger - Bannerghatta National Park , Banglore

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Being an apex predator, the tiger don't have any natural predators. Humans are the only predators of tigers. Poaching being the prime reason for the disappearance of these cats. They are poached for skin and body parts , which are of great money value in the black market.Another reason is the reduction in numbers of their prey animals. This is caused by deforestation and over grazing of the livestock of the people living close to the forests. This will further reduce the territory of the tigers and lead to tigers turning to the livestock as their prey. This will further lead to human-tiger conflicts. Then the tigers may be killed by poisoned carcasses or trapped and killed in the name of saving their cows . What you can do is:

1) Don't be a poacher directly or indirectly.

2) If you really love the tiger, don't buy any products related to its body parts, such as tiger skins, bones, teeth or claws.

3) If you were to witness any kind of illegal activities being done that is related to the tiger or forests, be bold to report it to an authorized agency in your name. Also inform to the mass media , and use your social networking sites to help you get public support. You should file a complaint to police & forest departments against those who are indulged in such illegal activities.

4) Make public aware about importance of tiger and forests in the jungle ecosystems.

5) Adopt methods to prevent overgrazing in protected forests.

6) Along with the tiger, we have to ensure the protection of its habitat and prey species.

7) Tigers are territorial animals. So a greater amount of forest land is required for supporting a greater population of tigers.

CONSERVATION - Our Duty Towards The Mother Nature

Nature has gifted us with things that are beyond our imagination. We are blessed with intelligence, which separates us from everything else in the world. It makes us the ultimate lifeforms of the planet. So its our duty to protect the mother nature from destruction, which transformed the basic elements in to a living, breathing and thinking creature. By the past century, we have seen human development which caused severe environmental problems. Pollution and deforestation coupled with disasters caused by human error have deteriorated the quality of earths environment. This does not mean to stop our developmental activities, but to make further development in our technologies to prevent environmental degradation. Lets make our pledge to promote sustainable development and environmental protection.

THINGS TO DO:

In the modern world, everyone is well aware of the environmental problems. Each and every student are educated from their school days about the importance of  nature conservation and to reduce pollution and environmental degradation. But usually, the teachers will teach those topics with an exam point of view. If they were taught their first lessons in a way to promote their love towards nature, then another naturalist is born,to save the world. Also,we all know the problems caused by plastic and electronic wastes, but simply, we say to ourselves 'Its More Convenient' to throw away these things to some ware. Everybody knows that their cell phone batteries are not meant to be thrown away anywhere, but its their "lack of convenience" to spend a little time to give it to a recycle station that causes this problem.Usually, the lack of awareness to the public is the primary reason for these problems. I wont say that you should do it on the very moment and waste your precious time, but to do it whenever you find time. If you could take it as your duty, you are a hero who saves the planet. Tackling a single big problem may not be as tough as tackling a lot of smaller problems, and when a number of small solutions unite, we will be able to solve a big problem. So, what ever be the size of your contribution to this collective effort, you become a conservator. The things that you can do to promote conversational efforts are :

1)To educate your family and friends about the importance of conservation and make public awareness. This should reduce most of the problems caused bu the human race.

2)Reduce the usage of non biodegradable and polluting chemicals and plastic materials.

3)Proper waste disposal methods should be employed

4)Repair Reuse & Recycle your materials to reduce wastage of resources & materials

5)Be bold. Don't be shy to speak against immoral activities done against nature and we be able to stand  for conservation.

6)If you are a popular personality ( celebrity, politician, etc) and if your words are of great value with more people to hear from, then please share a few words about conservation in your speeches, interviews or social networking sites. It can not only help in conservation, but will increase your popularity to newer heights.

7)Providing an effort to save the nature is like working to save everything in the planet, as each and every thing in the world is related to nature in more than one way. Every effort is like a thousand prayers sung in unison and if we unitedly work, nothing can stand in our way as an obstacle.
